A
possible set of choices for Setup Info:
Thunderbird, File, New, Account, Email, John Doe,
johndoe@triangleairpark.org
IMAP (stores files on server instead of PC, best if also using webmail
or several PCs)
incoming server = mail.triangleairpark.org
outgoing server or SMTP server = mail.triangleairpark.org
incoming-user-name = johndoe@triangleairpark.org
account-name = johndoe@triangleairpark.org
outgoing-user-name = johndoe@triangleairpark.org
Thunderbird, Tools, Account settings, Outgoing server(SMTP), Edit, Port
587
Also check mark in "username and password." Use secure connection: No.
OK
Thunderbird, Tools, Account settings, johndoe@triangleairpark.org,
Server Settings, Port 143,
Use secure
connection: Never. OK
Using POP3 (stores files on local PC) instead of IMAP, then use port
110, instead of 143.
After above is working,
you can try in-coming and out-going servers with TLS if available.
Accept dreamhost certificate.
